I have applied for a bank loan 2 weeks ago, but looks like it might not be approved. The housing industry here has somewhat cooled down with many people such as yours truly find it very difficult to apply for a housing loan. Could it be due to my age that they are not telling? I am in my early forties now and I don’t know how long I can continue working like this on a consistent basis. One hard lesson is that never raise the expectations of your boss! Otherwise you could face dire consequences later on. One has to learn how to manage his boss and even though we were told to work hard and all that, raising the expectations by over performing spells disaster later on when the high expectations are not met!
Common, there could be programming script changes, or downtime or outage and other problems beyond our control but a crazy demanding boss will always expect perfection and things to go well all the time. ‘No’ is not an excuse and will be met with high volume demands and exchange of angry words. Will I be better off applying for a week’s leave and take a break? Do I have a choice?
Work will always be there and take for instance, our KL office does not report of faulty fax line anymore but some client faxes are not emailed to me to respond accordingly. They take the easy way out and this is less work for the staff. Sometimes, I don’t blame them considering the volume of faxes I used to receive every single day!
